Celeste lives in Hollow Cove and loves it there. Even though she’s a witch who hasn’t quite gotten a hold of her magic, her family is there and others like her. But she lives for one day of the year. The day when Booth returns from the Mortal realm to spend the day with her. Booth is the youngest of a litter and life was always very hard for him in Hollow Cove. He left Hollow Cove and has a successful real estate business in the Mortal realm. Halloween is the only time when he can cross over and every year he has come to visit her. This time, however, Booth wants Celeste to return with him. If she doesn’t, Booth will be returning to the Moral realm alone.

Tuesday Richards writes a very amusing story that is also a very sweet love story. I had to laugh at Hokey, a poor water elemental who Celeste accidentally trapped in her bathroom. He now adorns her wall as a shower. Ms Richards introduces various paranormal elements into her story and builds a community of interesting and comical characters. Her hero and heroine are loveable and the reader will be rooting for them. The sparks fly between them on more than one level and I really enjoyed reading this story. It’s a great seasonal read that you can enjoy anytime. This is the first story that I’ve read from Tuesday Richards and I don’t think it will be the last. This is an author I will be looking up for sure.

“The chemistry between the two lovers was so intoxicating! I fell in love with Booth right along with Celeste. I also really felt for Celeste and the hard decision she had to make of leaving her home and family; even though they shunned her, she still loves them. I only had one problem with Hollow Cove-it ended!”  Fallen Angel Reviews

Rating: 4.5 blue ribbons

Every year on Halloween lovers Celeste and Booth are reunited when he returns to Hollow Cove from the mortal realm for the allotted twenty four hours. They’ve lived with the long separation for the past five years and it’s wearing emotionally on both of them. This year Booth is about to deliver his ultimatum - either Celeste makes the move to the Mortal Realm with him or they’re over. For Celeste there’s a sense of security in living in Hollow Cove. She’s got her own business, family and everybody’s supernatural so using magic in public is never frowned upon - well except hers sometimes since things tend to go awry for some reason. She comes from a long line of high powered witches but her lack of control with her powers has been a disappointment. Even her shower is a reminder of her issues with magic as the water element Hokey, whose trapped there, can attest.

Wolf Booth has made a successful life for himself in the Mortal Realm. He’s always felt uncomfortable with his own family because he’d been the runt of the litter. His only regret is he’s only able to be with Celeste for one day out of the year. He’s tired of being alone but knows that he won’t ever truly fit in if he moved back to Hollow Cove so he’ll have to convince her to make the move to be with him.

Celeste is very upset by Booth’s ultimatum and isn’t quite sure what to do. She’d love to be with him all the time but can’t fathom what she’d do in a realm where she can’t use her magic - and certainly doesn’t want to live off Booth either. She confides in her friend, Charlie, a vampire, and a man Booth has despised since middle school and Booth certainly isn’t pleased with what he views as his competition.

Will Celeste and Booth come to some sort of understanding and still be able to remain a couple? As Celeste searches her feelings about the possibility of the move she learns a shocking truth that just may explain more about her trouble with magic.

HOLLOW COVE is the first book in Tuesday Richards’ PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS TEAM. This story is full of plenty of humor, witty dialog and hot sex to keep readers entertained through to the last page. Neither Celeste nor Booth truly fit in amongst their peers but leaving the only home she’s ever had for the unknown is an extremely scary idea for Celeste. I was fascinated by the various paranormal characters and how they interact. This series is off to a wonderful start and I’ll be looking forward to future PIT stories.

SNIPPET-
Booth returns to HOLLOW COVE on Halloween each year to see the love of his life, Celeste. After five years of this routine he’s tired of being alone and issues an ultimatum - return with him to the Mortal Realm or they’re over. Will Celeste decide to leave the life she’s always known to be with the man she loves?

Celeste never heard Booth enter the kitchen. The warm breath on the side of her neck was the first giveaway. She leaned her head to the side to allow him access. His lips brushed her skin, tongue tasting her pulse, and her neck prickled with bumps. Booth’s hands slid around Celeste’s waist, pressing the satin fabric of her nightie against her skin. He untied the belt around her waist, then pulled it from the loops. He flattened the satin belt out and loosely placed it over her eyes, tying it gently behind her head.

“Trust me?” His breath tickled her ear.

“Completely.” She had never trusted anybody more in her life. Celeste was an empty shell when it came to the love of her family, but Booth filled that void with his love. She was surprised that he’d stayed completely faithful throughout the years, never another lover, not even the mention of one. Every time she thought about being with him forever, she smiled and could only imagine what the future would hold.

Booth led Celeste around the island and sat her on a stool. His bare feet padded across the granite tile. The freezer door opened and then closed. He approached from her left and touched her arm. He lifted her left arm above her head and slowly bent the arm to secure it with the robe tie already around her eyes. He did the same to the right arm, loosely securing her wrist with the satin fabric.

Her body trembled in anticipation of what the morning would hold.

With her butt on the stool and back against the edge of the island, Booth’s fingertips grazed Celeste’s chest and pulled the top of her nightie down to expose her breasts.

She jumped when his lips kissed the sensitive flesh. Unable to see, Celeste couldn’t tell what he was going to do. This was new and highly erotic.

His hands traced fire through the soft fabric down her belly. He lifted her left leg, placed it on his shoulder and laid his hand on her right knee. “Keep this leg straight. Don’t move.”

All Celeste could do was nod. Caught up in the exotic feeling of not being able to see, she couldn’t speak. Her breath caught in her throat when she felt ice on her ankle.

Booth pushed the ice up the inside of Celeste’s leg, his warm breath trailing behind it. The dual sensation made her shiver and her panties became moist. The ice hit the other ankle and traveled up her leg, warm breath again following behind it. Booth maneuvered the frozen water underneath the fabric of Celeste’s panties, onto her clit. His mouth held it there and he sucked on the ice through the cotton fabric.

“Son of a bat shit!” She leaned her head back, wrists straining against the robe tie. She wanted to touch him so badly. The ice melted against her clit and the cool water ran down her pussy, soaking her panties.

Booth pulled the fabric down Celeste’s legs. He put her left leg back on his shoulder and did the same with her right leg on the other one. His tongue entered her cool wet pussy and slowly made circles. The sensation was intoxicating. She had never felt anything like it before.

No plain old lip rub and then tongue tonsillectomy for him. He nibbled her bottom lip until it was as sensitive as her wet and swollen sex below.

The wetness he generated in her pussy had no effect on the fire he called up elsewhere. Staci wasn’t sure if she heard the carpet sizzle, or if that was her brain frying all its circuits.

Jiao’s left arm reached around to capture her and pull her tighter into his embrace. His right hand crept up her back until it reached the neckline of her shirt. With one savage pull, her shirt was a tattered rag on the floor. Her jeans fared no better.

Not that Staci cared one bit about the damn clothes, but what was grain for the goose fed the gander, too. She tugged on the remains of his tee shirt until his chest was exposed. Not that he wore much more than rags, anyway. The jeans and tee were fit only for the recycler. His huge cock lay between them like a barrier, and occasionally bumped her lower belly as if it were requesting entry.

Jiao’s right hand wound her braid around his fist until he bowed her head back away from his lips, exposing her jaw and neck to caressing kisses and nibbling bites. His draconic purr vibrated through her body all the way to her toes.

Staci gasped with pleasure when his lips made their progress to her breasts and rigid nipples. His left hand cupped her butt and lifted her up, and she arched her back to allow him greater access, hoping he’d impale her on that magnificent cock right where they stood.

Instead, Jiao carried her to a table laden with porcelain statues and objets d’art, including a huge stone statue at one end. She’d not been able to look around, and didn’t much care at the time. As soon as her weight rested on the edge, his left hand swept the ornaments to the floor. The thick carpeting prevented breakage, she hoped. At least she didn’t hear the crashes and tinkles of broken porcelain. Jiao muttered something in Chinese, and then switched to English. “Lay back, lovely lotus flower. Your wings will be safe this way. Stay, and anticipate.” He released her hair and stepped away, out of sight behind a big screen. A door opened and closed with a click.

Staci put her head back and felt a hard substance against her scalp. With both her hands, she reached up to feel what was behind her. Cold stone, carved in the shape of a dragon, she guessed.

Jaio returned and smiled. “Keep your hands on the statue, if you will. Grasp it tightly.” He held up an intricately painted porcelain jar. “You will wish for the support.”

Staci studied the jar, half of her panting with excitement at the mystery, and half of her wary. “Ancient Chinese secret potion?”

He shook his head. “Do you consider spiced honey a secret potion?” He took a finger full of amber goo from the jar. “See? Honey.”

“Well, who could be scared of that? I always read dragons had a sweet tooth. Do Foo Dogs, too?” She batted her eyes and smiled to let him know she teased.

“Yes, we do. I will have a feast.” He swiped her right nipple and caressed his finger to her navel.

Grateful for the support of the dragon statue, Staci squirmed and burned with lust. Never before had she been treated like a pastry to be decorated before consumption. Not that she was complaining! She felt pretty and cherished, enough to be considered a treat. A moan escaped her mouth before she realized how hot and needy she was.

Jiao decorated her left nipple with another dollop, and attacked his work with hungry fierceness. He licked and suckled, purring in a deep rumble that shouldn’t have come from his human form’s throat. What Staci didn’t expect was for his honey-covered finger to caress her clit when he moved to repeat the procedure on the right.

Oh, man, she needed this. She couldn’t remember the last time a male had touched her with such caring attention to detail, waiting for her reaction to see if she liked what he did before moving on to greater things. Like, maybe never? Half the time, if she so much as looked interested, their pants were around their ankles.

Jiao poured a dribble of honey in her navel and took his time licking the nectar from the tiny cup of her “innie.” Her thoughts shredded like wind-torn clouds. Still, she managed to hang on to the cool stone dragon above her head like it was a lifeline to sanity. Maybe it was. Jiao’s mobile tongue flicked the last of the sticky treat. “Tell me if I do something you do not like.”

“I’m not sure I’d be coherent. You’re… oh, gawd.” Staci’s breath caught in her throat. He was decorating her inner thigh. “Is that writing you’re doing with the honey?”

Jiao swiped a line of honey before answering. His wide grin was mischievous. “Yes. Poetry to your beauty and the taste of your skin.” He nibbled just above her knee.

Staci bit back a moan of sheer delight. She could hear the brush-brush of her tail sweeping back and forth against the legs of the ornate table beneath her. There was something surreal about the perfumed air of Jiao’s apartment aerie, high above the city’s noise. If he didn’t get on with either eating her or fucking her or something — anything but this slow, sensuous torture — she’d rear up and turn the tables on him…

Jiao’s tongue swiped her clit. The mere flicker of his forked tongue electrified her whole body. The hiss of the table smoking and the strong scent of burning lacquer varnish made him pause and smile. “Losing control already?”

Must Love Dogs has been Reviewed by Bitten by Books!!!!!!

****½

With some great comedic touches like “Corbin’s mouth opened before his brain recovered from the urge to chase her into the woods.” “As long as you’re also in lust ’cause I am.” you will love this story. Seventy pages packed full of great characterization along with stellar sex and hysterical humor make this a truly fun book.

Roni is a girl with a problem. She can’t find anyone to date. Her roommate, a vampire, sets up a profile for her. Austin and Richards have fun mocking the online personals while allowing their character to find at least one male who lifts her tail. See, Roni is a Chuskie. Now don’t even worry about the whole Chihauhau screwing a Huskie thing. You simply have to suspend your disbelief. And if you are a breed purist like the hero’s dad, you may want to suspend a lot more.

Corbin’s got a problem as well. He wants a mate–an Alpha bitch who can stand next to him without drooling over his title as heir apparent to one of the largest packs around. So he pretends to be a human who wants to date werewolf bitches. This book starts off fast and sexy.

Secondary characters don’t overwhelm the story and I found myself really enjoying the best friend banter of Ana, the vampire, and Roni. The sex doesn’t overwhelm the story but provides the perfect amount of heat with humor. And there are no easy answers in this one. I like that Roni stays true to her Alpha bitch self and that Corbin respects her for it.

This book brought tears to this cranky Southern Belle. I was totally drawn into the story and recognized a few familiar snouts. For those looking for a sexy story with a lot of heart, you just can’t go wrong with Must Love Dogs by Tuesday Richards and Lena Astin. 4.5 tombstones from me.

Faux Paws has been reviewed by Bitten By Books!!!!!

July 28th, 2008 by Tuesday

****

Austin and Richards have a winning combination in the bad angel and the werewolf who can’t shift. The sex is hot and the writing tight making for a short story that folks will gobble up.

We first meet Charm, the angel, at the bar Lucky, the non-shifting werewolf, works at. There’s immediately attraction and distraction when the town bully comes in for round two with Charm’s ladylike skills. This lands them all in jail.

Charm is a Nephylum. There is a little too much back story that the authors fail to disguise as Lucky musing on what kind of Nephylum Charm is. Frankly, I didn’t care that much. It dragged the story down for me. I would have been find with the hysterical description of “old fashioned Goth Revival.”

I did like how the writers detailed what a faux paw is. They let their characters tell that part of the story and they did it very well. Lucky and Charm are engaging characters to be sure.

Throw in an enemy who isn’t as slimy as everyone though and a project straight from Sunday night television, you will be rooting for Lucky and Charm (get it? Lucky Charms?) to win the battle. The house renovation segues neatly into the story adding that touch of heart all good romances need.

That touch lifts this out of the stroke categoy and into romance for this cranky Southern Belle. I think anyone looking for a book that will hand them the steamy erotic sexual encounters they want and lace it with real romance should get this book. Definitely 4 tombstones for Faux Paws.

Lucky Thornburn is working at Enrique’s bar while the owner is on vacation when Charm Merrill comes in requesting a drink and ice for her hand. Seems Charm and a bully exchanged blows. When the bully enters the bar, Lucky jumps to her defense. Charm doesn’t want Lucky’s chivalry, but she accepts his help because she is attracted to him, even though Lucky is a born shifter who can’t shift and Charm is a half angel. Once Lucky and Charm make love, they become a team anyone would be a fool to mess with, including Lucky’s brother JR, who is attempting to take over Charm’s property to build a shopping mall.

Faux Paws is the next installment in the Night Critters series. Charm is a feisty angel accustomed to taking care of herself. Lucky is a gallant werewolf who can be tough even if he can’t shift. Lena Austin and Tuesday Richards have produced another hilarious tale pairing unique critters together in a very enjoyable saga.
